Thomas A. Atkins, MD joined Fox Valley Orthopedic Institute in 2001.
Dr. Thomas Atkins received his doctor of medicine from the University of Vermont Medical School, followed by a general surgery internship at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He then completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Atkins recently completed a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Atkins is board certified through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He is also certified with Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Atkins is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is also a member of the Illinois State Medical Society and the Kane County Medical Society.
Dr. Atkins’ focus is on general orthopedic practice, with an emphasis on hand and elbow surgery. He is board certified through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and is on the staff at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva, Sherman Hospital, and Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
