Fox Valley Orthopaedic Institute Acquires Open MRI

GENEVA, ILLINOIS, May 10, 1999 -- Fox Valley Orthopaedic Institute is announcing the addition of a magnetic resonance imaging system to our practice (commonly referred to as an MRI). The Institute has acquired the MRI unit, known as the AIRIS II, that features a unique, award-winning, open-aired gantry design that provides complete access from all sides for total patient comfort.

The AIRIS II Open MRI imaging system was acquired from Hitachi Medical Systems America, Inc. Hitachi is the leader in Open MRI using permanent magnet technology, with more than 500 systems installed in the United States, and 1500 worldwide.

Fox Valley Orthopaedic Institute has added the MRI unit to offer the Fox Valley community access to the most advanced imaging techniques currently available in the health care industry.

The inside of the MRI unit is open on all four sides which minimizes anxiety and claustrophobia in most cases. This also allows the patient to have a loved one or friend with them at their side during the exam to comfort them further. In addition, the MRI unit combines the above comfort with state of the art digital electronics that ensure excellent image quality.
