Dr. Morawski joined Fox Valley Orthopaedic Institute in 1993. He received both his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Illinois.
He completed a surgical internship and a second year as a general surgery resident at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He then served for four years as a Orthopaedic Resident in Kansas City at the University of Missouri.
He was awarded a year long fellowship at the University of California, San Diego in adult reconstruction and total joint replacement which he completed in 1993.
Dr. Morawski was inducted into the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. Membership in the organization is granted to orthopaedic surgeons who have at least 50 percent of their practice devoted to total hip or knee replacement or osteotomies of the hip and knee each year. The physician must also be a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has shown a commitment to education, research and treatment of arthritis of the hip and knee joint.
Dr. Morawski is a member of the medical staff at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva (where he served previously as the Chairman of the Department of Surgery) and at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
Dr. Morawski is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Illinois State Medical Society and the Kane County Medical Society.
His background in research work in chemistry and biochemistry at the University of Illinois has led to additional projects in the field of medicine. Much of his latest work has been in the areas of hip and knee disorders.
Dr. Morawski's area of special interest is in the treatment of arthritis. He is one of the Fox Valley's leading total joint replacement surgeons who also handles complex revision and minimally invasive procedures.
