Dr. Rieger has been with Fox Valley Orthopaedic Institute since 1980. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Dr. Rieger earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan.
After serving as a surgical intern at Loyola University, Dr. Rieger completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Illinois Affiliated Hospitals.
He is member of the medical staff at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva and Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, and he serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Illinois Medical School, teaching bioengineering.
A specialist in spinal surgery, Dr. Rieger's areas of expertise also include arthroscopic surgery, foot and ankle surgery, joint replacement and spine surgery.
He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Abraham Lincoln Orthopaedic Society, the Illinois State Medical Society and the Kane County Medical Society.
Dr. Rieger is the author of two published articles on fractures and arthroscopy.
He has served as District Chairman for the Boy Scouts and was on the Board of Councillors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
