Thomas A. Atkins, M.D. joined Fox Valley Orthopaedic Institute in 2001.
Dr. Atkins received his doctor of medicine from the University of Vermont Medical school, followed by a general surgery internship at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. He then completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Atkins recently completed a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
Dr. Atkins is board certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is also certifed with Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand. Dr. Atkins is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is also a member of the Illinois State Medical Society and the Kane County Medical Society.
Dr. Atkins' focus is on general orthopaedic practice, with an emphasis on hand and elbow surgery. He is board certified through the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is on the staff at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva and Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
