X-ray Technologist
Location: Barrington, Algonquin, Elgin & Geneva, IL
Status: Part-time (30-35 hours per week
Hours: Varied days & hours, including evenings
Summary
Responsible to perform diagnostic imaging examinations independently using radiographic imaging equipment following established protocols and procedures. Provide quality patient care while ensuring all OSHA and ACR safety standards are observed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other
duties may be assigned.
- Follow physician's direction and execute required imaging protocols and procedures.
- Perform diagnostic examinations by taking images of patients' bodies using radiographic imaging equipment.
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and maintain patient cooperation and involvement.
- Prepare patients for procedures and position patients for imaging. Identify anatomy and pathology in various cross-sections for the purpose inclusion and achieving the best image plane
- for interpretation.
- View images from an imaging session and keep accurate and complete records of the results.
- Responsible for timely and accurately documenting of services provided to patients for clinical and billing purposes.
- Respond timely to patient requests for films, CDs and paper files.
Education & Experience
Certificate, or Associate's degree in radiologic technology or in a related and/or equivalent field. Certification (or current pursuit of certification) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensure from Illinois Emergency Management Agency Department of Nuclear Safety. Relevant work experience as a Radiologist Technologist is preferred. Fundamental understanding of radiation physics, cross-sectional anatomy and physiology. CPR/AED certification.
