Jake Portillo, MD

About Dr. Portillo

Dr. Jake Portillo is a board-certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician specializing in interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine. Dr. Portillo completed his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation residency at Northwestern Medicine's Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Illinois, following a Transitional Year internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Forensic Science from Baylor University. He later when on to complete a Interventional Spine & Musculoskeletal Medicine Fellowship at Jordan-Young Institute in Virgina Beach, Virginia.

His clinical interests include fluoroscopic-guided spinal interventions, ultrasound-guided joint and soft tissue injections, regenerative medicine therapies such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and bone marrow concentrate injections, and electrodiagnostic testing. Dr. Portillo is passionate about helping patients restore function, reduce pain, and return to the activities they enjoy through evidence-based, patient-centered care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Portillo enjoys staying active through basketball, tennis, and pickleball, as well as cooking, baking, and gardening.
