Important COVID-19 (coronavirus) Information

Updated 3/19/20

To provide you with the highest quality orthopedic care, Fox Valley Orthopedics is putting the following measures in place to ensure your care while also practicing the principles of social distancing and preventative measures to curtail the transmission of COVID-19.

Telehealth – Virtual Video Conferencing Appointments

Starting immediately, new and existing patients will have the choice of either scheduling an appointment to come into Fox Valley Orthopedics or take advantage of our Telehealth service. Through Telehealth, you can talk to your doctor directly on the phone and/or via live video on your smartphone or computer. At your virtual appointment, you will have the opportunity to discuss your current orthopedic issues, and your healthcare provider will determine your next course of treatment and if further testing (X-ray, MRI, bracing, slings, physical therapy, injections or surgery) is necessary.

To schedule a Telehealth appointment, call 630-584-1400

Elective Surgery

Effective immediately, all elective surgery will be at the discretion of your physician. When possible, surgery will be rescheduled.

When You Come In For An Appointment

After checking in with our front desk staff, you may be asked to wait in your vehicle until we're ready to call you back for your appointment. Should you choose to wait in your vehicle, you will be required to provide the front desk staff with your cell phone number so we may contact you once we are ready to bring you back into a treatment room.

Please be mindful of who you have accompanying you to your appointment. Unless necessary, we ask that you limit who you have accompany you to one additional person, if possible.

We appreciate your cooperation with our recent changes and thank you for your patience during the ever-changing protocols necessary to prevent further spread of this virus.

Keeping You Safe

Our entire medical staff has been through COVID-19 training and are up-to-date on the current situation in our area. Staff is conducting daily deep cleans and disinfecting all areas of our facilities, in addition to wearing gloves and masks in patient areas.

We are monitoring the CDC COVID-19 website for updates so we can stay informed of any changes. We have asked our staff to stay home if they are exhibiting any symptoms and are actively screening patients for symptoms before they come in.

What You Can Do As A Patient

Minimize your risk by thoroughly washing your hands and avoiding touching your face. If you are experiencing cough, fever, shortness of breath, or if you have reason to believe you have been exposed to COVID-19, please call to reschedule your appointment so we can keep our healthy patients healthy. If you have visited any countries that have a Level 3 Travel Health Notice in place, we ask that you honor the CDC recommendation to stay home for 14 days. Those countries currently include China, Iran, Italy, and South Korea.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding your orthopedic care, please contact us at 630-584-1400.

Thank you,

Barry Mathews, CEO
